On a delightful Saturday morning, the facilities director of West Fargo Public Schools received an alert on his phone regarding a freezer malfunction at one of the campuses. It was a notification from TempLink’s Gateway, which was connected to the cooling unit via an Ethernet cable. Reading the message, the official realized there was a bulk order of hamburger meat, along with other inventory, stored in the freezer that had been shipped on the previous day for the school district.

Upon checking, they found the freezer was heating up due to an unknown failure and filled it with dry ice until the HVAC team arrived. The instant alarm activated by TempLink’s solution, composed of the Gateway, sensor, and dashboard—saved all the food and inventory worth $200,000. Sensors within the cooling unit detected the rise in temperature and forwarded signals to the Gateway. Built on the most cutting-edge long-range wide-area network (LoRaWAN), the TempLink ecosystem instantly sent alerts to the director’s phone, even at far-reaching distances.

TempLink integrates LoRaWAN technology—suitable for 915 MHz frequency—into all its wireless sensors for better connectivity, eliminating common issues of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-based systems. With its high-performance rating, LoRaWAN reduces power consumption, offers a longer range with less interference from other frequencies, and provides a more stable connection, scalability, and security.

“Leveraging over three decades of combined experience, we have built high-sensitivity devices that offer superior connectivity, reliable monitoring, and a cost-effective solution for our customers,” says Gary Tharaldson II, CEO.

The company offers a wide range of products, including LoRaWAN-based sensors, food probes, and waterproof and leak detectors, facilitating more efficient data transmission than any other Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in systems. Each Gateway system connected to the long-range network can support hundreds of sensors within 300 yards. Significantly, over six years in the IoT sector, TempLink has never witnessed its batteries go below 50 percent, and its products remain functional and perform optimally for up to 10 to 15 years.

TempLink allows users to easily track the system’s real-time performance and battery levels through custom-built dashboards. Designed by in-house software developers, these dashboards help users access automated temperature logs recorded by sensors while in operation. They can personalize the dashboard according to their preferences to update sensor names, locations, login credentials, and other account details. Regular notifications and emergency alerts are forwarded to phones, email, and applications on the logged devices. Users can quickly download the temperature logs for a preferred date range and format and export them to any database or cloud storage for future reference.

Leveraging over three decades of combined experience, we have built high-sensitivity devices that offer superior connectivity, reliable monitoring, and a cost-effective solution for our customers.

What makes TempLink’s solution appealing is its user-friendliness and easy installation process. The intuitive setup of this standalone system allows clients to quickly deploy sensors in desired locations and plug the Gateway system into a standard power outlet and Ethernet connection. Users can view data and receive real-time alerts just by logging into their dashboards from any device—mobile, tablet, or desktop.

From food processing companies, healthcare centers, and school cafeterias to grocery stores and restaurants, all rely on TempLink for the preservation, monitoring, logging, and alerting of their cold storage units and high-heat equipment. Whether medicine, cosmetics, or food in restaurants, the company provides scalable solutions with cold chain sensors and high-temperature probes. Notably, the automated services for temperature management reduce manual labor for repeated checks, saving both time and investment.

Dedicated to helping businesses sustain their product quality through constant monitoring, TempLink continues to develop customized solutions and integrate new hazard analysis forms to improve user access at every level of operation.
